Your Turn: What Do You Like (or Not Like) About Facebook?

Being the world’s largest social media platform doesn’t necessarily make Facebook better

UR Turn, Help me finish ths post by sharing...Last month I mentioned that Twitter is my preferred social media platform and the one I use the most. Though I’ve been on Facebook longer, I don’t find it as useful. In fact I find Facebook frustrating.

Aside from frequent changes that affect how things work is the reality that only a fraction of the people who like my page ever see the things I post. I suppose Facebook does this to motivate me to pay them to “boost” my post. Instead they’re motivating me to connect with people elsewhere.

Making the most out of Facebook is on my to-do list, but right now it’s far down that list. Maybe someday I’ll get to it—or maybe not.

Even so, I’d be honored if you’d like or follow my author page on Facebook. What do you like about Facebook? Click To Tweet

  1. Well sir, currently, I am off of Facebook… about six weeks or so, and like the other times I’ve taken a break, my mind seems more focused. The election cycle kinda did it in for me this time, along with lack of connection raising up in my real world here and now. I do like that I can keep up with my siblings and other relatives through Facebook. I am using Instagram for connecting with family now, but less family uses that social outlet. I miss having a place to share my blog posts. Hmmm. Good question Peter.

  2. I have an author page on facebook where my blog posts are automatically shared. I don’t spend a lot of time on facebook. I know not everyone (or hardly anyone) who likes my page receives these posts but I figure it’s not too demanding and at least its something, so I keep it up.

  3. I like Facebook.

Actually, I have 2 Facebook pages: An Author FB; and a Personal FB.

On my personal FB, I have a page for my crafty business called “The Bib Shoppe” which I co-own. We sell bibs for adults! Yup, you heard that right. Then, on my Author FB, I post mostly Christian things. I also have pages for 2 of my books off my author page. It’s a lot to keep up with!

What I like about FB is that I get to see all the posts my kids post showing pictures of our grandchildren (if I scroll down far enough or type in their name). I could use Instagram for that too, but I just can’t handle one more social media outlet. Ha.
