Peter DeHaan’s mission is to change the world one word at a time.
Peter DeHaan’s writing career spans three decades, having published hundreds of articles and authored four academic works, with multiple blogs and a growing number of books.
Peter is a member of The Jerry Jenkins Writers Guild, Michael Hyatt’s Platform University, Word Weavers, American Christian Writers, and Jeff Goin’s Tribe Writers. Peter cofounded the Kalamazoo Christian Writers critique group.Peter DeHaan has an MBA and PhD in business administration from Kennedy-Western University and a second PhD degree from Trinity College of the Bible and Trinity Theological Seminary, conferred on June 15, 2012, awarded with high distinction, endorsed by Canterbury Christ Church University, England.
A lifelong student of the Bible, Peter wrote the 350-page website ABibleADay.com to encourage people to explore the Bible, the greatest book ever written. His popular blog addresses biblical spirituality, often with a postmodern twist.
In 1983 Peter published his first article, titled “All About Pagers,” in the now defunct tech magazine Radio Electronics. His second article “Computers Track Down Intermodulation Interference,” appeared later that year in Mobile Radio Technology magazine, ironically as he labored through his college freshman writing class. This would be his only formal writing course; he persevered and earned an A. Over time a passionate writer emerged. He now focuses on writing nonfiction and memoir but for fun dabbles in fiction and pens an occasional poem. He was a top-twenty winner for Imagine This! An ArtPrize Anthology, published September 2013.
Vocationally, Peter is president of Peter DeHaan Publishing, Inc., which he launched in 2001. There he is publisher and editor-in-chief of the print publication Connections Magazine, the e-publication AnswerStat, e-newsletters TAS Trader and Medical Call Center News, and several informational websites, including Article Weekly. He gives back to the writing community with his writer’s blog, Byline.
Peter DeHaan’s prior work experience includes telecommunication consulting, multi-location call center management, mergers and acquisitions, software programming, high-tech help desk management, technical writing, and project management. Peter also had brief stints as a television audio engineer, electronic music instrument technician, copy machine repairman, meat-processing plant lackey, and farm laborer. These experiences shaped Peter into who he is today and provide many fond—and some not so fond—memories, as well as ample writing material. He now focuses on writing and publishing.
Peter lives in Southwest Michigan with his bride of over three decades. They have two married children and three amazing grandchildren. Peter is an avid reader and podcast consumer. A movie buff who enjoys nature walks, Peter celebrates both as sensory experiences that feed his inner muse.
